RE: Sign Violation
Sprint Tax @ 2285 W. 6th St.
Dear Mr. La Tour:
This office received a complaint from Mike McKimmey with the City of Fayetteville Inspection Department. The complaint states that the business known as Sprint Tax on W. 6th has a electronic message board, which is a violation of the City Sign Ordinance. Furthermore Mr. McKimmey notified you of the violation by certified mail on the 11th of April, 2000. Mr. McKimmey stated that as of May 9, 2000 the sign is still operating and in violation of City Ordinance 174.08B Fluctuation Illumination, which states:
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to erect additional attraction devices or signs or to continue in operation an attraction device or sign which flashes, blinks, or is animated. Illumination of attraction devices or signs located in the City that fluctuates in light intensity shall be prohibited.
It is not my policy as Deputy City Prosecutor to subject good citizens to the court system and all that it implies. The purpose of this letter is to make you aware of the complaint and give you an opportunity to correct the violation. You need to remove the sign within 14 days from the date of this letter. Failure to comply could result in a summons being issued for your arrest.
Sincerely,
W. Brant Warrick
Deputy City Prosecutor
